10 Ways to Stay Sane in a Freelance Lifestyle
If you work freelance for a living then you are part of a small elite group of masters in the world. With this highly coveted job, comes the innate self-discipline, reliance and dependability leading to an often stressful lifestyle.
We decided to create a detailed list that all freelancers can use as a guide to stay sane. These 10 ways to stay sane in a freelance lifestyle are fun, but also meant to be helpful. Whether you’re a brand new freelancer or an experienced one we’re confident these tips will be beneficial for you.

1. Stay Motivated: Keep a consistent energy level while working on any freelance work. The moment you lose motivation is when you lose your creative energy and that can be seen from your final project.

2. Listen to Your Client: The person that hired you to do freelance work is not always knowledgeable when it comes to what you’ve mastered – but they are your clients. You should have absolute control over the creativity of the project, but always listen to their needs before making any big decisions.

3. Expect Constant Change: Even when you think you’ve done the best you can, expect either very minor, or very major changes to take place.

4. Don’t Let Clutter Interfere with Creativity: Whether you’re working from home, a rented office, or a local coffee shop make sure your space is uncluttered. If your space is cluttered, so is your mind and in order to get the most productivity out of yourself you need to be of clear thought.

5.Develop More Then One Example: When you finish working on an idea, come up with at least one more that will demonstrate the versatility you have to offer. That way you know what direction to go.

6.Create a Contract: Always do freelance work via a contract. A contract not only protects you, but it protects your client as well. This is a basic business practice but one that should be used at all times no matter what.

7.You Will Rarely Get It Right The First Time: As a freelancer you need to refer to number three and five often. Don’t rely on the fact that you can mock something up, and your client is going to be impressed the first time around, be prepared to make many revisions (and don’t take it personally!).

8.Utilize Tools: Use all of the free tools that you can get your hands on. There are tools made specifically for freelancers that will help make your life so much easier.

9.Work Hard: While working on freelance assignments treat it no differently than working on your own personal projects. The harder you work the more it’s going to show in your final presentation, and the happier your client is going to be in the end.

10.Have Fun: The most important. You need to have fun with every new project that comes your way and you will have nothing but success while freelancing.
